Dancehall artiste Flexxx has merged his production company Fagan Fraternity Records with United States-based record company All Faces Records and is gearing up to release several dancehall and reggae projects under the umbrella. According to the deejay/producer, the collaboration was inevitable because both parties have similar business interests. “US producer Kirky Shines and Fagan Fraternity are working on some projects together and Hapilos will be doing the distribution for us,” he revealed. Fagan Fraternity/All Faces Records have already released at least two rhythm compilations – one representing dancehall music and the other is reggae based. The reggae rhythm is called Beet Root and features Ishawna, Jah Vision, Kibaki, Singing Sweet, Determine, Natural Black and Sizzla Kalonji. “We decided to go reggae because reggae is getting back its respect in the music and we realise that more of that is needed where reggae is getting its own 30 minutes in the dances again. Fagan Fraternity and All Faces are playing their part to encourage that,” Flexxx said. Fagan Fraternity/All Faces Records are also upbeat about working with Sizzla with whom they collaborated for a few projects. Sizzla is featured on the recently released World Cry rhythm with an effort called Work Towards It. The soon-to-be-released dancehall rhythm is named the Good Gold. This rhythm features veterans like Mad Cobra, Beenie Man and Macka Diamond, as well as Ms Thing among others. New business collab, Flexxx, revealed that Fagan Fraternity has consistently released rhythms since it was formed, however, promotional resources were scarce. However, the label is now in a better position to promote its projects under the new business collaborations.
