KONSHERS TEAMS UP WITH RAPPER/PRODUCER LIL JON



 Dancehall artist Konshens has teamed up with  rapper and producer Lil Jon for a remix of his Big and Sexy. The song was produced by Mark 'Mark Hize' Collinder and Konshens' Subkonshus Music, and is said to be very energetic and have the hip hop style and club appeal Lil Jon is best know for. Konshens, fresh of a European tour, stated in a release, "I could not refuse the opportunity to have Lil Jon, the crunk king, featured on one of my tracks. The Big and Sexy song already brought a vibe to the dance but with Lil Jon added, gives the song another fire."

Lil Jon is of course the "King of Crunk" known for hits like Usher Raymonds "Yeah", and his previous collaboration with Jamaica's "Energy God" Elephant Man, for the remix of "Get Low".Konshens and Lil Jon are set to begin promotions for the collaboration very soon, and of course, when the track is released you can find it here! Konshens is currently heading to Africa where he will perform at Pepsi's "Konshens and Alaine Live" in Concert in Uganda. He is riding the success of his latest singles "Do Sumn", and "I'm Coming".Lil Jon of course has more recently been credited for his contributions on Donald Trumps "Celebrity Apprentice" season 11, notably with Latoya Jackson and actor Gary Busey to name a few. DIONNE WARWICK "RE-FIXES" "RAINDROPS KEEP FALLING ON MY HEAD"


Cousin of the late Whitney Houston, legendary singer, Dionne Warwick has re-recorded her 1989 hit "Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head" with the legendary and famed reggae rhythm duo Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare. Sly Dunbar is reporting that the song was recorded in Los Angeles, and produced by Damon Elliot, Dionne Warwick's son. Damon Elliot is most know for his work with R&B and Pop artist like Beyoncé, Gwen Stefani, Pink, Keisha Cole and Macy Gray to name a few.
The track was originally recorded by singer B J Thomas in 1969 and it was used in the 1969 hit movie Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid.
Warwick has had a big following in Jamaica since the 1960s with hits like Walk On By, Do You Know The Way to San Jose, and A House is Not a Home, all co-written by David and Bacharach.
She performed in Jamaica, January this year at the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival along with Mary J. Blige, Monica and several other artist. The track has not been released yet, but stay tuned!!

Emperor of Dancehall Shabba Ranks Working on 2014 Album Release



After a 15 year hiatus, one of the first dancehall artist to gain worldwide acceptance, Shabba Ranks, is scheduled to release an album in 2014. The 47 year-old Grammy award winning deejay previously had success with the major label, Epic Records, in which he was signed in 1991. He recorded five albums with Epic, before his hiatus. He remained a prolific, mainstream artist even in his time off.
Some of Shabba Ranks biggest hits include "Mr. Loverman" 1992, "Trailer Load a Girls" 1991, "Ting-a-ling-a-ling" 1992, and "Caan Dun" aka "X-Rated" 1990.
During his time with Epic, Shabba achieved two Grammy Awards for Best Reggae Album, but was eventually dropped from the label in 1996. He has worked with super producers such as Bobby "Digital" Dixon, and Augustus 'Gussie' Clarke.
More recently in July 2013, Shabba was mentioned (the chorus is "Shabba Shabba Ranks, one gold tooth like I'm Shabba, Shabba ranks") in A$AP Ferg featuring ASAP Rocky's song "Shabba" and appeared in the official video.

TOMMY LEE aka UNCLE DEMON ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM


Tommy Lee announced on his FB page this morning, that you can now pre-order his new album, debuting under label name of "Guzu Musiq". Coming off of the recent controversial statements by Vybz Kartel (see article in the archives) stating Tommy Lee was a "moron", and "anti-gaza" could this be his way of confirming he is in fact no longer affiliated with GAZA, and is now GUZU??? KENDRICK LAMAR's VERSE ON BIG SEAN'S "CONTROL" HAS THE STREETS BUZZING!


Kendrick Lamar's verse on Big Sean's "Control" also featuring Jay Electronica, has the hip hop community in a frenzy! Lamar's verse was pure lyrical fire, and was delivered with such force and command, you had to wonder, "who's song is this again?" Shots were taken at EVERY big name in the rap industry, and he held no bars! No one has taken personal (BY NAME) shots like this since Tupac!
